Personal career site
A static site connecting a professional profile, bilingual résumé, engineering projects, and long-term topics.
Problem and constraints
A visitor may want a quick view of my work or a detailed explanation of how a project was built. The original site centered on LLM inference study, making the broader professional background harder to find. The revised structure gives the résumé, projects, and articles distinct places and connects them through reading links.
The site is hosted on Vercel at xuzz.me, stays static, and uses Markdown. Project metadata is managed separately, and articles reference stable project IDs. Chinese and English have separate URLs, and reading does not require JavaScript. There is no database or content administration service.
My contribution
I set the direction for a career homepage and topic spaces, reviewed the information architecture and visual design, and used reading and navigation feedback to refine the content. AI assisted with implementation and checks. My contribution centers on those design decisions, content organization, and delivery reviews.
Key decisions
- Keep one source of résumé facts with independently written Chinese and English text.
- Curate documented projects and distinguish work in progress from validated work.
- Associate topics with existing content rather than duplicate articles.
- Give each project a hub for its design, implementation, and iteration articles; all articles also appear in the searchable library.
- Use
/articles/<urlSlug>/for prose, independently of titles and project membership; label original-language content when no translation exists. - Share paper-white and charcoal palettes, serif headings, and sans-serif body text across the site, with white-background printing.
Validation approach
Static builds, internal link checks, draft isolation, and browser checks are used to validate delivery. Browser checks cover language, narrow layouts, keyboard operation, themes, and print styles. Live performance still needs validation in the actual hosting environment.
Limitations and next steps
The site now includes localized identity, dated work summaries, education, and curated project outcomes. Personal contributions, shared library scale, and planned work are described separately; missing employers and unmeasured results are not invented. Content and styles are maintained independently.
